Happy October 1st! We were so busy with fun events and training at WECM that September flew right by! There are a lot of exciting events coming up both at the Centre and within the community. Our 2015-2016 Business Breakfast series begins with Louise Blanchard, Canadian Certified Counsellor and founder of Birch Wellness Centre. Louise has more than 20 years of counselling experience and will share her insight into staying motivated and avoiding burnout by helping identify the boundary ‘where your business ends and you begin’. Drawing on current best practices models of self-care such as mindfulness, meditation and self-compassion, Louise will guide you through an informative, lightly interactive and relaxing morning session. What is a business plan and why do I need one? It  is a critical tool for outlining the strategy and developing the tactics to manage your business. This document identifies your business concept, organizes the information derived from your research, and explains how you will start and operate your business. This interactive series is delivered from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on six consecutive Wednesday evenings (summer hours differ) and provides in-depth instruction on preparing each section of the business plan. A business plan template is included. Classes are small and range in size from 6 to 15 participants so there is lots of time for questions and discussion.
