We have some exciting new changes at the Women’s Enterprise Centre of Manitoba including a new addition to the WECM team!
We asked Kateryna, our recent hire, to answer three questions so we can all get to know her a little better. Please join us in giving her a big, warm welcome!

Tell us who you are:
My name is Kateryna, and I recently came to Canada from Ukraine. I had my bachelor’s degree in Business Management in 2016 and I’ve been travelling since. My previous big destination was United Arab Emirates where I gathered experience in tourism and customer service. Now I’m looking to make Winnipeg my new home! I love poetry, physical activities, and I think that tabletop games are an excellent way to spend quality time with my friends.
What drew you to work for WECM?
I’ve found a great community in Winnipeg; a lot of good people are ready to step up and offer help to those in need, and it inspires me to do the same. I’ve always felt compassion for women’s struggle worldwide and with WECM I feel like a part of team, that will make a real difference for women of Manitoba. I’m happy to offer my skills to support every woman entrepreneur that will seek assistance. Together we are strong.
What are three local women-owned businesses you will be supporting this fall?
It’s always hard to start as a newcomer in a new city; you need everything, starting from a bed and furnishings, and finishing with cute little pots to put your plants in. I fell in love with some of NancyBloklandPottery pots, an entrepreneur working in Kelowna BC, and I will pay a visit to her as soon as my lemon tree will need bigger space.
Be Yoga is a great place to relax and spend some mindful time this fall. We all need some me time.
And I’m a big tea lover, and Northstar Tea Company has a huge variety of flavors. Hot cup of tea is a perfect fit for autumn aesthetics.
