Meet our Newest WECM Team Member Seun!

Exciting changes are afoot at the Women’s Enterprise Centre of Manitoba including a new addition to the WECM team!

We asked our recent hire, Seun, to answer three questions so we can all get to know her a little better. Please join us in giving her a big, warm welcome!

Seun Ajila – Finance & Administration Manager

Tell us who you are:

Hi everyone! My name is Seun, and I recently moved to Winnipeg from Brandon to pursue this wonderful opportunity with WECM as the Finance & Administration Manager! I am a multiple industry Finance and Assurance professional, and I am super excited to be back in the not for profit sector on a full-time basis! I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and a Master’s in Business Administration (Accounting) both from Nigeria, West Africa. I hold additional professional designations including; Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Information Systems Auditor, Certified Information System Manager, Certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Chartered Global Accountant, and Chartered Management Accountant. I enjoy writing non-fiction books, baking, and watching movies when I am not busy crunching numbers.

What drew you to work for WECM?

The first point of attraction to WECM is the connection between the Centre’s mission and my personal purpose statement of seeking to provide resources in funding and capacity building for women looking to start or expand their businesses, while enhancing corporate sustainability. I am fascinated in this role because of the opportunity to be able to help female entrepreneurs accomplish their goals and bring their dreams alive. I am eager to walk with them through the process of understanding their business numbers and how keeping a close eye on their relationship to their financials can assist their business growth. I look forward to an exciting ride with our clients.

What are three local women-owned businesses you will be supporting this fall?

Three local women-owned businesses I will be supporting this fall include Woman to Woman Empowerment Coaching so that I may assist in amplifying a platform that supports women in mentorship and inner circle support. I also look forward to supporting Socialite Media Marketing and StratHR Solutions Inc to better understanding the services they offer. I am interested in seeing how we can better support entrepreneurs and provide alternatives for outsourced services in human resources and digital marketing so that clients can access these services within a functional budget and devote more time to their core business operations.
