Explore Export Opportunities on the Trade Show Floor

If your business is 51% or more women-owned and controlled, and one of your business goals is to grow your business via export, I would be interested in meeting with you.

Exporting is complex and I don’t profess to be an expert. However, I can explain the resources that are available, help you explore export opportunities and be your guide through the process.

For the past five years, I have accompanied export-oriented women-business owners to an international event called the WBENC* Conference and Business Fair. Every year, this conference and trade show is held in a different U.S. city. In 2017, it is in Las Vegas.

If you want to test your export opportunities first-hand you will want to join me in Las Vegas from June 18 – 22. The feature event of the week is the WBENC Business Fair during which you walk the trade show floor and have the opportunity to meet buyers/diversity specialists from regional, national and international corporations to explore potential business opportunities. Between 300 and 500 U.S.-based national and regional corporations will have trade booths at the WBENC Conference and Business Fair.

Throughout the week, you will also have the opportunity to network with corporate buyers and influencers at the multitude of conference seminars and receptions. You will meet representatives from Canadian government (elected officials and BWIT** regional trade commissioners), women’s enterprise centres across Canada, and various certifying organizations.

Last but perhaps most valuable, you will meet other women business owners just like you who are interested in business growth. A 1997 supplier diversity stat from Wikipedia  showed that U.S. women-owned companies generated $2.5 trillion in annual sales – that number has grown dramatically in the last 20 years. At WBENC, you will hear from and network with women business owners who have achieved various levels of business success. You will be inspired and energized to achieve your business goals.
