Business Plan Workshop: Jane Helbrecht of Uplift Engagement

Jane Helbrecht was nearly ready to launch her business when she joined the Business Plan Development Workshop Series that began September 14, 2022.

“I mainly wanted to make sure that I wasn’t missing anything when I set up my business,” she said. “I wanted to make sure I was checking all of the boxes when it came to financial requirements, registration, legal requirements, and overall business planning.”

In the middle of the six-week series, Jane officially launched Uplift Engagement.

Uplift Engagement is a Professional Service that offers training events, Leadership Development, People + Culture Programs and Custom Training + Development services.

Uplift Engagement works with outside organizations, leaders, and HR Professionals to “develop stellar leaders, build strong, engaged workplace cultures, and help build future-oriented organizations that are ready to evolve to meet changing needs and expectations of talent.”

Jane said she learned about the Business Plan Development Workshop through friends who had participated several years prior and had launched their own business in 2019.

“It was an easy decision to register,” she noted. “I knew I would learn something and [would] likely meet a number of other interesting entrepreneurial women.”

Jane said she most enjoyed the marketing sessions of the workshop. “I found it very practical,” she said. “I also appreciated knowing I had the advisors at WECM and the session instructors for any questions I might have outside the class.”

Jane is now one month into her business and feels she is in good shape to meet her targets for 2022. “The workshop really confirmed that I was doing the right things and gave me some great ideas from a marketing perspective.”
