A Look at the Numbers

Over the years we have helped thousands of Manitoba women as they pursue their dreams of business ownership and achieve their goals for success. Some access just one service or program, others take advantage of several. Between October 1994 and March 31, 2016 we have:

Received 3,051 business plans
Disbursed $22,286,118 in loans
Leveraged $25,967,387 with other financial sources
Helped create 1,891 full-time job equivalents
Delivered 2,035 seminars and workshops
Provided training to 24,212 participants

Impact Assessment of the Women’s Enterprise Initiative

In the study “Impact Assessment of the Women’s Enterprise Initiative”, Ference Weicker & Company noted:

  • 20:1 ROI of operating funding to client revenues attributed to Women’s Enterprise Initiative (WEI) in Western Canada
  • 30:1 ROI in loans by WEI to incremental revenues and 8,000 person years of employment
  • $2.35 in additional investment per $1 lent by WEI
  • 98% of WEI clients remain in operation after the first year of operation; 75% remain in operation after 5 years.
