Go for the Greens
Earlier this week, we published a blog by our Business Advisor Nancy Brommell about an upcoming trade mission to Orlando, Florida called Go for the Greens. As a seasoned trade mission attendee, Nancy says that if exporting is in your  future, attending this event is a must. Business Women in International Trade, a Government of Canada program, is making it easier to attend by  offering three scholarships for first-time attendees. The application due date for the scholarship is August 12, so if you’re interested in learning more, read Nancy’s blog and act quickly!

Alleyways Market Two
The second Alleyways Market is setting up in the Exchange District tonight from 4:00 pm – 10:00 pm. This is part farmers market, part design exhibition and part curated pop-up shop. Local businesses, artisans and restaurants are pulling together to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere that celebrates Winnipeg’s Exchange District while giving back to the many people who consider the neighbourhood home. Gourmet Bakery Enjoys Sweet Success
We love to shine the light on Manitoba’s women entrepreneurs.  Cori Poon, owner of Sweet C Bakery, has been feeding Winnipeg with delicious treats since 2011 when she launched her business. Nona Foods Founder Kailey Gilchrist on Taking Vegan Mainstream
After her mother passed away, Kailey Gilchrist was left with some gourmet Italian recipes and memories in the kitchen. With a desire to make healthy, plant-based spreads more widely available while keeping her mother’s recipes alive, she launched Nona Vegan Foods.
