International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated each year on March 8 to commemorate the movement for women’s right. It was officially adopted by the United Nations in 1975. This year, IWD coincides perfectly with our Business Breakfast series, and what better way to mark the day than with a celebration of a successful women-owned business.
Starting with a family recipe for handmade soap sold from home to becoming one of Canada’s 500 Fastest Growing Companies has been quite a journey for the partners at Tiber River Naturals. Named Manitoba Women Entrepreneurs of Year in 2016, Michelle Lalonde and Adriana De Luca never stop evaluating their business model and exploring market opportunities. They currently have two spa locations, a manufacturing facility that creates more than 200 natural, environmentally friendly products ranging from body care to home care, 40 employees and a team of home party consultants stretching from B. C. to Ontario. On top of that, they are finalists for the Mompreneur of the Year Award in the Excellence Category.
